Alix Klineman is an American beach volleyball player and an indoor volleyball player too. In high school, she won the title of Gatorade National Player of the Year. She also stood at the first position in volleyball at Stanford University and gained a four-time-all American title. She was named in the Volleyball Magazine as the national player of the year. At Pan American Games she won the bronze medal while being in a team USA. Currently, in 2021 Alix is representing the USA at the Tokyo Olympic Games alongside April Ross. As far as beach volleyball is concerned, she was named as part of the Association of volleyball professional’s team of the year (in 2018 along with April Ross) and was individually honored with Best Blocker Awards.
Early Life
Alix Klineman was born on December 30, 1989. She was born in California. Her parents are named Mike and Kathie Klineman. She was raised in Manhattan Beach in California. Alix belongs to the Jewish religion and is one of the middle children in her family. She has two siblings- Max (elder brother) and a younger sister Maddy. Her brother Max first started playing volleyball in childhood as a game. This made Alix play the game. Once she accidentally participated in the beach volleyball game in a camp at the age of 6. She has done her graduation from Mira Costa High School and passed in 2007.
She won the position for regularly three consecutive years at California State Championships. she also won the title for three consecutive years at the Southern Section CIF championships. Later, she played volleyball in the college in women’s team at Stanford University from 2007 to 2010. She acquired a name in 2010 Volleyball Magazine and was named as player of the year. She also gained few other names like the Pac-10 Conference Player of the Year, an All-Conference selection all four years, and was named for a multi-American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American as a college senior.
Alix Klineman Career
As soon as she started her career in volleyball, she started representing the team USA. She was one of the team members of the Junior National Women’s Volleyball Team and was also one of the members of the United States Women’s National Volleyball Team. In 2004, she helped her girls’ team to win the gold medal at NORCECA (North, Central America, and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation). Again in 2006, she won the gold medal for her team at NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship. She became the training member of the United States Women’s National Volleyball Team.
She won a bronze medal in 2011 for the US at Pan American Games. Alix Klineman also played for Italy from 2011 to 2015. Later in 2013, she was tested positive for anabolic androgenic steroids due to which she was suspended for 13 months. But according to her, she tested positive because of unintentional ingestion of her mother’s DHEA supplement, which she acclaimed in her response. Currently, she is representing her nation USA in Tokyo Olympics 2021 which is being played in Japan, and playing Beach Volleyball.
