Cason Wallace is all pumped up to make his debut on the big stage as he has been selected in the NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks as the overall 10th pick. He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). He earned a consensus five-star recruit rating and was among the top players in the 2022 class.

Early Life

A native of Dallas, Texas Cason was born on 7th November 2003. Kimberly and Mike Wallace are his parents, and he has a brother named Keaton, who played college basketball at UT Arlington.  Wallace went to Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas where he earned the title of Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year for Texas and the Dallas Morning News boys basketball Player of the Year during his senior year.

He averaged 19.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. Additionally, he received invitations to participate in the 2022 Mcdonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic. His brother is the biggest influence in his life.

On Sunday (7th November 2021), Cason Wallace, a top-10 senior, announced that he committed to Kentucky, granting coach John Calipari and the Wildcats the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. In the summer, several twists and turns characterized Wallace’s recruitment, with different schools appearing as potential favorites at various points.

However, ultimately, Wallace chose Kentucky over Tennessee, Texas, and Texas-San Antonio, despite his brother Keaton being a four-year starter at the latter. But Wallace became the Wildcats’ top priority for the point guard position, and they have been leading the race for the past two months.

“I have always dreamed of attending Kentucky since I was growing up,” Wallace informed ESPN. Wallace further stated, “The energy of the whole program, including staff, players, and fans, had an atmosphere.”
