Amita was born on 19th July 1997 in Bhedihari, Nepal and she was raised by her parents Madan and Gita Suman who owns a Chip shop in Worthing. For her higher and further studies, she went to Sussex Downs College. In 2018 she graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts as she was passionate about acting.

She also appeared in two other TV series named Ackley Bridge as Sameera and Doctor Who as Umbreen. In 2019 she appeared in an American fantasy-adventure TV series named The Outpost. She had a recurring role as a character named Naya.
In October 2019 it was announced that she will be cast in a series developed by Eric Heisserer named Shadow and Bone. On 23rd April 2021, her series named Shadow and Bone is going to be released as she plays the main role of Inej Ghafa. So she has been giving about the same, about her experience on the sets. She is also promoting her series and likes to update her fans about her activities.
