Yealimi Noh was born on July 26, 2001, in San Francisco, California. She is of Korean descent and has a younger sister named Yena. Noh started playing golf at the age of six and was coached by her father, who is a former professional baseball player in Korea. She attended Carondelet High School in Concord, California, but did not play for the school team. Instead, she focused on competing in national and international junior events.

In 2018, she had an incredible run. Over a period of just five weeks, she won four tournaments one after the other. First, she won the California Junior Championship. Then, she triumphed in the Girl’s Junior PGA Championship.
Not stopping there, she also emerged victorious in the U.S. Girls’ Junior and the Canadian Women’s Amateur, all in consecutive weeks. It’s safe to say that Noh’s performance was nothing short of amazing. She became the first player to win the latter three titles in consecutive weeks.
She also represented the United States in the Junior Solheim Cup in 2017 and the Junior Ryder Cup in 2018, both times contributing to the team’s victory. Yealimi was ranked as high as No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and No. 1 in the Rolex AJGA Ranking.
Professional
Noh turned professional in early 2019 at the age of 17. Qualifying on Monday for the 2019 Cambia Portland Classic, she secured a place on the LPGA Tour for the rest of the season by coming in second to Hannah Green.
She earned her full tour card for 2020 by coming in third at the LPGA Q-Series. Her best performance in 2020 was a runner-up finish at the Volunteers of America Classic. In 2021, she had her best season so far, recording four top-three finishes and six top-15s.
She also achieved her best result in a major championship, finishing third at the Evian Championship. She was selected as a captain’s pick for Team USA for the 2021 Solheim Cup, where she won two out of three matches and helped her team retain the trophy.
