Jordy Bahl is a college softball pitcher for the Oklahoma Sooners and she is among the best active softball players in the country at this moment. As a freshman in 2022, she was voted the NFCA National Freshman of the Year. Over Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, Texas, and Florida, she picked Oklahoma.

Early Life
Jordy Bahl was born on July 24, 2002, to supportive parents Dave and Emily Bahl. Her father, Dave, played soccer at Doane College in Nebraska. He also played varsity basketball for one season. However, no information regarding her mother is available. Emily prefers to keep her innuendo to herself. Bahl went to Papillion-La Vista Senior High School in Papillion, Nebraska.
She led the Monarchs to three straight Class A state championships and was named All-State each of her four years. During her junior year in 2020, she went 27-0 with a 0.15 ERA, allowing only 27 hits and 24 walks in 139 innings pitched while striking out 299 hitters. In addition, she tied the Class A single-season record with 22 home runs and batted.581 with 59 RBI. She was selected as the Nebraska Softball Player of the Year after a fantastic season.

2021
During her senior year in 2021, she went 27-0 with a 0.10 ERA, allowing only 27 hits and 15 walks in 137 innings pitched while striking out 316 hitters. She also had 20 home runs and 55 RBI while batting.510. Jordy was selected Nebraska Softball Player of the Year for the second year in a row, as well as Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year, after an exceptional season.
She concluded her career at Papillion with a 95-3 record, a 0.63 ERA, and 978 strikeouts in 523 innings. She also had 63 completed games and one perfect game. Bahl was named the top recruit in the country for the Class of 2021 by Softball America and Extra Inning Softball.
2022
Bahl made her collegiate debut for Oklahoma on February 10, 2022, against UC Santa Barbara. She pitched two and third innings, retiring four of the eight batters she faced. Sophomore Nicole May and graduate transfer Hope Trautwein combined to complete the perfect game for the Sooners. On February 25, she threw a perfect game against Cal State Fullerton.
Through the course of the 18 hitters she faced, she struck out 11, giving up no hits or walks. She became the first Oklahoma freshman pitcher to throw a perfect game since Paige Parker in 2015. She gave up 18 earned runs while keeping opponents to a.137 batting average and seven shutouts.
On May 6, 2022, she was injured during a pregame warm-up for the Saturday game in the regular season finale versus Oklahoma State. She didn’t pitch in the 2022 Big 12 Conference softball tournament because of arm pain. On June 2, during the opening match of the 2022 Women’s College World Series versus Northwestern, she made her maiden start after recovering from an injury.
She pitched 11 pitches, giving up just one out while allowing two singles. Jordy clinched the game of the Women’s College World Series on June 9 by allowing four hits, two runs, three walks, and two strikeouts in four innings.
She was voted the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Co-Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, and a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 pick after an impressive campaign. She also received accolades such as first-team All-American, NFCA National Freshman of the Year, Softball America Freshman of the Year, and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year finalist.
2023
She went 7-0 with a 0.70 ERA in 18 league games as a sophomore in 2023. Her opponents’ batting average of.130 in Big 12 games was the lowest of any pitcher in the league, and she had the most conference victories of any pitcher with seven. Following the season, she was voted a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 pick and the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year for the second straight year.
