Edward Lawrence would be living in his late 20s or early 30s. This is evident from his explanation regarding his graduation year in 2015. It all started when Edward began studying B.A. (Hons.) Television Production- was not the obvious choice for him from the freelance journalist point of view- but the degree gave him all the skills and talents that he aspired to be a broadcast journalist. A few months later, the refugee situation became the “big story” of the country and the BBC reporter hired Edward as the freelancer reporter. He was hired to assist the reporter (whom he met) to make films with him on the migration of the people in the wake of the refugee cases. The films were about to be broadcast on BBC2 and the BBC News Channel as well as online. Edward felt this was a major and dream opportunity. He was given the task where he had to pitch ideas while doing self-shooting and making films. It was that time when it all kicked up the freelance work in the life of Edward and he started doing short-term tasks for BBC.
Edwards finally graduated in 2015, with his books full of the contacts and the various leads to approach. He began working as a freelance reporter and his work and talents started broadcasting on media outlets like BBC and ITN. During that time, he worked on various covered stories with ITV, making short stints in Calais covering refugees and homeless children. During that time, he gained access to the first unaccompanied children and was allowed to travel to the UK with them, during the time when he was working for ITV News.
