Mike Schultz is a paralympic snowboarder. He is a personality from the United States who has been showing his persistent appearance at Paralympics with the debut in 2010 in Minnesota, United States. Despite this, he is a founder of his self-funded company called BioDapt Inc, where he runs a business of prosthetic equipment. He was the presenter of the United States and the flag bearer at the 2018 Winter Paralympics Parade. In 2008 while performing in a snowmobile race, Schultz lost his leg.
Despite his amputation, he managed to earn a gold and silver medal in snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Paralympics. He is also the recipient of the honor of Best Male Athlete with a Disability ESPY Award. He has won a silver medal at the event of men’s dual banked slalom SB-LL1 in the 2021 World Para SnowSports Championships that happened back in Norway following the silver medal in the men’s snowboard cross SB-LL1 event.

Mike is the son of loving and caring parents named Scott Schultz and Carrie Johnson. He was brought up along with his one sibling Chris (brother).
Mike Schultz Career
Schultz is a gold medalist who has shown the winning streak on his name at the event of snowboard-cross SB-LL1 followed by a silver medal in the banked slalom marking the happy ending of the past two seasons. Mike is also known by the name “Monster Mike”. He is one of the serious U.S. riders and the regular contender for the Paralympics attaining a gold medal following the season of the 2017 World Championship in Big White, Canada. Mike stood against the most challenging personality of the Netherlands’ flying Dutchman Chris Vos in the banked slalom but had to finalize the game without any gold in hand. He also once fell short of the gold in the snowboard-cross podium, however, these games were just like warming up for the special events in the future.
Rise to Fame
He has also successfully competed at the World Cup 2017-18 in which he overall took the crystal globe and was able to succeed with the appearance at PyeongChang 2018. After going through a severe accident and getting his leg replaced with prosthetic equipment, he trained himself with the prosthetic knee and got back to the sports, winning a silver medal in the motocross adaptive at the X Games. He had to go through various fractures, and multiple knee surgeries before settling with the prosthetic equipment in his leg. Schultz who first saw the need to develop prosthetics for various athletes led to founding his own business with the name BioDapt, Inc. in July 2010. He aims to provide the best instrumental and prosthetic support for the various athletes (who believe in actions) and also for the wounded soldiers.
Mike is being trained and guided by his only coach named Alex Tuttle and Mike Jennings. He used to follow a training of two hours per day that makes an average timing for preparing mentally and physically for the challenges in the sports. Mike has appeared at the Paralympics a total of two times following the season of 2018 and 2022. He is the recipient of gold and silver medal at snowboardcross and banked slalom respectively at the Paralympics Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Despite this, he is a three-time silver medalist at the world championships of banked slalom, dual banked slalom, snowboardcross of the season 2017 and 2021.
