She used her mother’s profession as an intersectional lens and got into the field of advocating for women of color and educating others. At the time when she was still an undergraduate student at Stanford University, Anna took the courage from her parents’ work and started making her identity as an activist. She served as the president of Stanford’s Black Student Union as a sophomore. Also, she became the executive director of Stanford’s Alternative Spring Break. While performing both of these roles, she organized various rallies and events.
Most of her work used to be focused on Black people or the community. She raised funds for the women’s clinic in the Bay area and later developed her passion for advocacy in social justice. Previously, Anna was the first partner of Stockton, CA. She co-authored the first-ever “Report on the Status of Women in Stockton ” to help the diversity with the decisions and gain experiences with the diversity of women in mind. Anna also tried her hands in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion consultancy. She worked with many companies and individuals to gain progress regarding DEI goals. Thereafter, she started publishing blogs on a variety of topics ranging from the celebration of motherhood to the sterilization of Black Women and posing the importance of feminism.

Her work got praised and featured in numerous magazines including TIME magazine, For Harriet, Darling Magazine, the Huffington, and Blavita. She also published her first book called “The Three Mothers of Martin Luther King, Jr. Malcolm X, and James Baldwin Shaped a Nation”. The book was published by Flatiron Books in February 2021. With her hard work and the knowledge she possessed, she soon became the New York Times bestseller and an Amazon Editor’s choice. Anna Malaika Tubbs is currently living in Stockton, with her husband Michael Tubbs and a son named Michael Malakai, and a daughter, who was born a few months back. Anna and her loving husband Michael Tubbs tied their knot around six years ago in 2017. At the campus of Stanford University, both the partners crossed each other’s paths. They build a real and true love story, empathy, trust, and love for each other. They drove the differences and accepted each other the way they were. Their wedding was called in a traditional Christian way with the combination of Ghanaian culture. Once Michael and Anna went on a vacation together along with one of their best friends Lange and his partner Jason.
