The Husky coach, Heather Tarr, felt that Aguilar should swing away from the plate because she had come to Washington as a slap batter.
Aguilar successfully made the adjustment and quickly established herself as one of the top power hitters in the country, blasting 21 home runs in her Junior season (2016). An agreement was reached with the University of Washington for Aguilar to play college softball. As a result of her selection, Aguilar went on to represent the United States at the 2016 Women’s Softball World Championship, where she helped the team to victory. Aguilar had a.273 batting average in the tournament, with a home run and five runs batted in. She was picked 13th overall in the National Pro Fastpitch draught in 2017 and went on to win the Cowles Cup with the Scrap Yard Dawgs that same year. She also played professionally in Japan before being nominated to the USA Softball Team for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
