Alexander Zverev is a German Professional Tennis Player who has been ranked world number 3 by the Association of Tennis Professionals and has won 15 ATP single and 2 double titles in his career. Despite being a player, he remained on the timeline quite a few times because of his on-court controversies rather than the game.

Early Life
Alexander was born in Hamburg, Germany on 20th April 1997 to Russian parents Irina and Alexander Sr but owns German Nationality. Both his parents are former Tennis Players and played for the Soviet Union. He was born into a tennis family as his Brother Mikhail Zverev, also known as Mischa is also a professional tennis player at World Number 25 while his father was a coach.
His parents moved to Germany in 1990 for Irina’s tournament and later both his parents were offered jobs as tennis instructors which led to them settling in the country. Alexander started playing tennis at a very young age and by the age of 5, he regularly practiced the sport. He was sporty and also played Hockey and Football.
Alexander has not shared much about his education but it is known that he took his training in tennis from Saddlebrook Academy in Florida and spent a few years living in the States. He is known to have completed his high school graduation from a local school in German but has not shared the name of his institute.
Alexander Zverev Career
Alexander had a flourishing Junior career as he became the World No 1 Junior Tennis. He started his junior career in 2011 at International Tennis Federation and won his junior title in 2013. He also played as a professional at the 2011 Moselle Cup but lost and in 2012, he made his first final win in the ITF 10k event in Florida.
Later in 2014, he won the boy’s singles title at the Australian Open. He lost a few matches later and also lost against his brother Mischa but soon won the Sparkassen Open and his first professional title becoming the youngest player to do so since 2009. In 2015, he was ranked 83 in the US Open and became the youngest player in the top 100. He was also named the ATP Newcomer of the Year.
Rise to Fame
The next year, he defeated world number 3, Rodger Federer, in the 2016 Halle Open the same year, he won his first ATP final at St Petersburg Open. He later ranked at world no 20 after the Shanghai Masters.
In 2017, he won against Stan Wawrinka in the Miami Open and won two more Masters titles in Rome Masters and Canada Masters. By the 2018 season, he was world rank number 5 and won the Monte Carlo Masters title. The same year he played at the ATP finals and won the finals against Novak Djokovic.
He also played tennis as a team sport and participated in the 2017,2018 and 2019 Laver Cup. He has also been playing at the Davis Cup and Hopman Cup since 2016. In 2019, he won the Geneva Open and reached the quarterfinals of the French Open. The following season he won two consecutive ATP 250 titles and also reached Paris Masters Finals.
In 2020, he won his 15th ATP final at Madrid Open and is currently playing at the Halle Open 2021. He recently won a match against Ugo Humbert and fellow German player Dominik Koepfer. He is set to play the quarterfinal in the French Open today where his opponent would be Carlos Garfia.
Controversy
Alexander was involved in a lot of media and legal issues due to abuse allegations against him which were made by his ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova. She had reported that she was emotionally and physically abused by him and he used to hit her.
She also told that he kicked her out of the hotel room in 2019 during the US Open and had also put a pillow on her face trying to hold her down. In his defense, Alexander immediately refused all these allegations.
