He earned the Duane Monkley Medal for the Mitre 10 Cup Player of the Year in 2016. In that same year, he received New Zealand’s age-grade player of the year award. Additionally, Jordie Barrett was honored as the Taranaki Sportsperson of the Year at the Taranaki Sports Awards in 2017.
During the 2018 end-of-year tour, Barrett participated in two tests. However, the first test against Japan didn’t showcase his best performance, despite the All Blacks winning 69-31. In the second test against Italy, he started as the right wing. His performance in the Italy test was remarkable.
Barrett not only played on the wing but also received the Man of the Match award, scoring four tries. This achievement made him the third individual from the All Blacks team, following his brother Beauden and former player Zac Guildford, to achieve this feat in 2018.
