Cade Denton is a junior who plays as the pitcher for Oral Roberts Golden Eagles Baseball team in NCAA. Cade has played a major role in reaching his squad all the way from playoffs to the Men’s College World Series. Early Life
Cade was born on 28th December 2001 in Rowlett, Texas, and his parents are Collins and Rachel Denton. Cade grew up with his elder brother named Dustin in his hometown. In high school, he batted for both Rowlett and Dallas Christian. He ended up graduating in the top ten percent of his class.
At the Perfect Game WWBA National Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, his summer ball team took second place. He is currently attending ORU and majoring in mechanical engineering. His decision to attend ORU was based on the university’s “great baseball and great academics.”
Cade Denton Career
In 16 bullpen appearances for ORU, he threw 27.2 innings and picked up his first collegiate victory on April 1 against Western Illinois. On March 26, against North Dakota State, he came out of the bullpen and threw 5.2 scoreless innings, striking out a season-high eight batters, and earning his first save at the collegiate level on May 9.
He made his collegiate debut on February 24 against Missouri State and went 2.2 innings, allowing one walk and two hits while striking out three. This was the first of four consecutive appearances in which he did not allow a run.
He made 24 bullpen appearances for the Golden Eagles, covering 43.2 innings, and posted a 0.41 ERA and 0.78 WHIP. Cade concluded the year with a 4-0 record, six saves (team lead), and 55 strikeouts (season-high 7 vs South Dakota State in extra innings). He pitched 18.2 innings without allowing a run, allowing only two earned runs while holding opponents to a.155 batting average.
The Golden Eagles won their 20th Summit League title and made their 29th NCAA Regional trip thanks in large part to Denton, who pitched three perfect innings against No. 18 TCU in the College Station Regional and allowed only one run, which was unearned, over his last 32.2 innings on the mound.
