On August 21, 1965, Mike Howe’s father, Jerry Haynes, welcomed him into the world in Taylor, Michigan, in the United States of America. Howe was a member of Metal Church from 1992 until 1996, and he recorded three albums with the band. However, despite the fact that he has only occasionally recorded or performed outside of Heretic and Metal Church, Howe contributed guest vocals to the 1991 album Guaranteed Forever by Hall Aflame and the 1997 EP Illusions by Mejora. In 1998, Kurdt Vanderhoof, the founder of Metal Church, reported that Howe had retired and was now residing in Tennessee with his wife and children. When Metal Church announced on April 30, 2015, that Howe had rejoined the band, it was a big deal.
